Tokunbo Central’s answer: requirements differ by country, so always follow the official government guidance. People who have done it successfully share these tips:
- Invitation letter: explain who they are, the purpose and dates of the visit, and where they will stay.
- Your documents: proof of your status, address and income if you are sponsoring the trip.
- Their ties to home: evidence of property, pension, business or family responsibilities that show they will return.
- Funds: bank statements that show enough money for the trip, without large unexplained deposits.
- Travel insurance: strongly recommended, and required by some countries, because healthcare for visitors can be very expensive.
- Apply early: processing times can be long around holidays.
- Use only official channels: avoid agents who promise guaranteed visas.
Your turn: did your parents visit you abroad? What made the application go smoothly?
