Need fabric for a wedding, aso ebi or a new outfit abroad? Where do you buy authentic African fabric and find a tailor who understands the styles?

Tokunbo Central’s answer: these are the routes people use most.
- African fabric shops and markets in cities with large African communities, and African stalls at street markets.
- Online sellers: compare reviews and ask for close-up photos or swatches to check quality and colours.
- Order from home: many people order through family or trusted vendors back home and ship with a group order.
- Tailors abroad: ask in church, mosque and community groups; see the work in person and agree a delivery date well before your event.
- Allow time: aso ebi orders and tailoring can take weeks, longer before big holidays.
- Style ideas: browse our African fashion page for the most-saved looks.
Your turn: where do you buy your fabric abroad, and who is your go-to tailor?
