Tokunbo Central’s answer: prices depend heavily on city, style length and hair included, so compare locally. Community tips for finding a good braider:
- Search and ask: African salons, home-based braiders on Instagram and TikTok, and recommendations in church, mosque and community groups.
- Check their work: look at recent photos, reviews and how neat the parting and edges are.
- Confirm what is included: hair extensions, washing, styling and time. Get the total price in writing.
- Protect your edges: say no to very tight braiding and heavy styles that pull.
- Book early before holidays and big events, when braiders fill up fast.
- Braiders: list your business free in the Tokunbo Directory so clients can find and recommend you.
Your turn: which city are you in, what did you pay for your last braids, and would you recommend your braider?
